Different handguards, barrel lengths, receivers, camos, etc.
Having weapons be completely modular like Escape from Tarkov would get rid of the silly system we have always had where there are like 6 preset weapon models/skins for each type of gun with attachments being the only things we can change. Weapon customization in ArmA III is the best it's ever been, but it still has plenty of room to evolve (something which is not very realistic/viable in a WWII setting). In my opinion the way the series is going to end up evolving is improving already existing features.
